Colophon
“Colophon” comes from the Greek “κολοφων,” meaning ‘a summit,’ ‘top,’ ‘finishing.’ It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book.
Typography
The logo was created by Elise Whitaker from LeLe designs, and was set in LinoType’s Shelly Script and Emigre’s Mrs. Eaves. The site body text, quotes and titles are set in Georgia. The site navigation utilizes Grotesque MT and the blog makes use of Helvetica Neue.
Design
Neoteric Design designed, developed, and hosts this site. Neoteric creates business blogs and redesigns websites with a focus on business goals, customer needs, site usability and engaging design.
Technical
We used Illustrator, Photoshop, and TextMate to create this site. The site runs on PHP. Content is maintained using Movable Type 4. Additional site features include custom PHP image rotation and Javascript. The site is authored using structural XHTML, and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
