American Express started a movement called Small Business Saturday for this Saturday, November 27th. To encourage people to shop small businesses they ask everyone to shop at your local small businesses on Saturday. I myself will be heading out for some treats from some local Chicago vendors. Below are my favorites that I wanted to share with you. Many of these shops will offer some great options for your Chicago wedding.
AKIRA Chicago which has a couple of Chicago location. Their main store locations are on North Avenue where there is a women's store at 1814 North Avenue and the men's store at 1910 North Avenue. They also have a shoe store there on North Avenue as well. Check their facebook page for store addresses and hours. There are some great options for your engagement party or a family dinner to celebrate your engagement.
The Left Bank has all your wedding needs from jewelry to veils to adorable shoes for your wedding day. Located right in Lincoln Park at 1155 West Webster. There are also some adorable items for your new home.
Need flowers for your home this weekend? Check out Dilly Lily at 742 West Fullerton. You can pick up a gorgeous bouquet for your home but also browse their adorable gift section with cute candles and some of the cutest locally made purses I have ever seen. Also, if Christine or Melissa are there be sure to set up an appointment to talk about your wedding flowers, they do GORGEOUS work.
I love purses! And at 1154 Lill Studio you will be happy to see you can custom make your purse with the colors and handles you want. Located right at 904 West Armitage. Not sure what you want the purse to look like, that is okay, you can shop their collection there at the store. And what a great idea for bridesmaid's gifts for your lovely bridesmaids. I love their little makeup kits and jewelry rolls. Hungry after all this shopping? Stop by Bittersweet Pastry Shop and Cafe at 1114 West Belmont for a lovely soup and salad or sandwich. And their sweets will be perfect to finish your lunch to get out there and shop some more. And check out their albums of their delicious wedding cakes they can do for your wedding!
