Pinch me! I am so excited to be a blogger for Huffington Post Weddings this week. I wrote an article about "When the Unexpected Happens on Your Wedding Day". You can read the article here. I have always been a fan of Huffington Post and when they launched their wedding blog I had in my mind I wanted to some day write for them. Well YAY my dream came true. Be on the lookout for more blogs to come. As a Chicago wedding planner and destination wedding planner for the past ten years I have a lot to share with their readers.
We are so excited to share with the world the new look and website for Engaging Events. We would like to thank the team at Neoteric Design for their hard work and amazing talent in working on the redesign of the website. I have worked with Neoteric Design for years and their team always perfectly portrays what I want to convey to my potential clients and vendor team.
Only ten days away until the second annual Wish Upon a Wedding Blissful Wishes Ball on Tuesday, November 1st at the Millennium Knickerbocker in Chicago. It's not too late to get your tickets! Steve Jobs passed away yesterday at 54. He was a visionary, the ultimate creative artist, the man who has forever changed how we expereince computers, phones and music. His quote, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do." As an entrepreneur, this quote means to much to me. Steve, you will be missed and we will carry on and I am sure apple has just scratched the surface of what you have started.
In case you missed it, last Wednesday we held our third annual Midwest Wedding & Event Professionals Charity Golf Outing. What first looked like might be a dreary day actually turned out to be a lovely fall afternoon filled with some good golf, great food, and lots of laughter as wedding and event professionals came together for a good cause. Keith Jorgensen of Poetic Productions and Kurt Gerber of Gerber Scarpelli Weddings co-planned this event with me and they did an amazing job!
I am so excited for one of my client's weddings to be featured on Style Me Pretty Blog today! And the bride is Chicago photographer celebrity, Belen Aquino, from Gerber Scarpelli. Belen and Drew had the most wonderful wedding that I was honored to be a part of. It was at her parent's home in McLean, Virginia and was a magical night.
I am looking forward to being a keynote speaker at the Association of Bridal Consultants Regional meeting on March 20th and 21st in St Louis, Missouri. The two day event will start with a dinner reception at the Hyatt Regency in St Louis overlooking the St Louis Arch on Saturday evening. Sunday, March 21st will be a day packed with education to take your business to the next level.
Happy New Year to all my readers. I am sure you will be raising a glass to the new decade and the New Year tonight! Here are some of my favorite champagnes that I love to drink when celebrating any occassion. I like to shop in Chicago at Binnys Beverage Depot for wines and champagnes. Have a Safe and Happy New Year and see you in 2010!
I was so excited when Michelle Kravetz of the CRAVE Guides called me this fall to tell me I was invited to take part in the CRAVE Chicago book. CRAVE Chicago innovatively connects urban gals to the sassiest, gutsiest, most inspiring people they need to know in Chicago. Their modern marketplace of soirees, gatherings and online networking serves as an ambassador to everything there is to CRAVE about the Windy City. Michelle has also organized the CRAVE Chats in Chicago which meet once a month. I have attended two of these chats and have really enjoying learning about work-life balance and public relations, but also to network with other entrepreneurial women in Chicago.
