In September, I was honored to be asked to speak by Sarah and Andrea from Cherry Berry Events at Camp Wedding at the Camp Wandewega, located in Wisconsin. This was their inaugural wedding retreat and I was looking forward to meeting some new friends in the wedding industry. I attend a couple of event conferences a year and I was intrigued by the concept of Camp Wedding, with wedding professionals being in a camp environment.

Wish Upon a Wedding Grant's 50th Wedding Wish in Chicago

Wish Upon a Wedding granted the 50th wedding wish in Chicago last night. This was a big milestone for the newer nonprofit that provides wedding and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. I am the founding president of the Chicago Chapter for this organization and also sit on the national board as vice-president and it is near and dear to my heart. Ashley and Brian said their vows in front of fifty of their family members and close friends at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare. This was the second wish a Marriott property has hosted and we thank them for their continued support of the organization.

It’s a special treat when Ali and I get to get outside of the office and check out a new store or vendor and the other day we did just that. We headed over to a new paperie boutique called Magnificent Milestones, located downtown on West Erie.

The Daily Bride

The Daily Bride is a new wedding TV show that was recently launched in Chicago. And, I am so excited as I have been asked to be the "resident" expert on the new and amazing wedding tv show, "The Daily Bride":http://thedailybride.com. It is Chicago's first online wedding show and a great place for new brides and grooms to look for vendors and get some great wedding tips. There is also a forum section where you can chat with other brides in Chicago! 

Nathan and Cecilia's Sunday Waltz The Drake Hotel

Nathan and Cecilia celebrated their love at their wedding through music, song, and dance. A twenty-eight piece classic chamber orchestra by "Roy Vombrack":http://www.vombrack.com at the ceremony was accompanied by friends who composed music and sang for their special day. The beautiful Gold Coast ballroom at the "The Drake Hotel":http://www.thedrakehotel.com was filled with white flowers, opulent crystals and gold accents to create a regal and elegant event. The bride and groom also shared their love in the expression of food with a custom vegetarian menu and Grande Sweets Table. After dinner, the wedding party entertained guests with a choreographed Viennese waltz, and then everyone enjoyed the music throughout the evening.

We cannot say enough about Ali. She is such a professional. She knows the vendors, knows her clientele's taste, and it was such an asset to have someone who knew how to create the most beautiful and unique wedding day. And stay organized and within budget! We hired her because we both work full time, and I was in the middle of finishing my dissertation. We needed some help with keeping on task about the wedding, making appointments, checking and re-checking with vendors, 
 

A Chicago Newberry Library Wedding

Rhiannon and Tim exchanged their marriage vows at the beautiful "Fourth Prestbytarian Church":htpp://www.fourthchurch.org on Michigan Avenue in front of their family and friends. The bride walked down the aisle to the Prince of Denmark played by the organ and the trumpet as Tim watched with the biggest smile on his face!

Marnie and Joel's ceremony took place on a beautiful spring day this past Memorial Day weekend. The ceremony was at the United Methodist Church in the Chicago Temple with 300 guests in attendance.
