Last week I co-chaired with Anthony Gowder of Anthony Gowder Designs, The Wedding Event for The Special Event Show which was in Chicago for the first time in 25 years. I was flattered to be asked to chair this event and represent the city of Chicago and all that we have to offer for weddings and events. The evening seated dinner was for a sold out crowd of 700 and the guests were treated to a delight of design, awesome music by The Becca Kaufman Orchestraand Sasha Souza's Favorite Things presentation at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile.
On Thursday, January 17th in Chicago, I am co-chairing The Wedding Event at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile for The Special Event Show that is coming to town from January 15th-18th. Seven hundred event professionals from all over the world will be attending to enjoy inspiration, amazing design and hear the always amazing Sasha Souza showcase her "Sahsa's Favorite Things".
Brrrrr, it is cold out there in Chicago today. I went out for a dog walk this morning and found myself running back into the house for a heavier jacket. Even Grohe our dog, looked at me with that, oh no, "another 6 months of this?" look?! But, once I get the heat rolling in the house (which I put on for the first time in six months last night) and get used to the cold again, I have to admit I do love winter. Today I find myself working from the home office and craving something hot and sweet and found this amazing recipe online for Mexican Hot Chocolate. What a perfect afternoon I have planned of sipping yummy hot chocolate and dreaming about snow falling and the holidays approaching.
We LOVE, love, love working with Jenna from Clementine Ink on our client's Save the Dates for their wedding. She works one on one with clients to customize their save the dates for the couple's style and personality and colors of their weddings. I recommend Save the Dates are sent out 6-8 months in advance of the wedding. I also recommend clients include the information for booking hotels for the wedding as well as the couple's wedding website where guests can get all travel details and read about the couple and their wedding party. Below are some of my favorites.
We love Wednesdays! Half way thru the week and it is Bouquet Wednesday where we feature a wedding bouquet every week. It is hot in Chicago and I am dreaming of those cooler spring days that we had just weeks ago. Today I bring to you a gorgeous spring bouquet full of tulips, peonies, various orchids and grasses, and mini succulence.
We are less than two weeks away from the much anticipated February 14th opening of the BHLDN Store in Chicago, Anthropologie's answer to all things bridal. We fell in love with BHLDN when they launched last year on Valentine's Day online and how appropriate that the Windy City gets their own store for brides, grooms and party planners alike one year later on the same holiday, (one that celebrates love); Valentine's Day.
I am super excited to let everyone know that tickets are now on sale for the Blissful Wishes Ball for Wish Upon a Wedding. This Black Tie Welcome event will be held on Monday, November 1st at 6pm at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. We would like to invite everyone to attend this wonderful Gala event to raise critical funds for Wish Upon a Wedding.
From the moment we met Ali, our minds were put at ease about our wedding. She was so organized and helpful with any little question that we had. There was no doubt that everything would go as planned. Instead of being stressed with all the details leading up to our wedding, that time ended up being such a joy for us! The day of the wedding went exactly as we had hoped, and it was even more magnificent than we could have imagined! Thanks to Ali, we could sit back and enjoy our wedding since we knew she had everything handled perfectly! She is the quintessential professional, and you will be free to enjoy every minute of this special day if you put your wedding in her capable hands. Thanks for making our day so special, Ali!

Anthony and I can't begin to thank you enough for the magnificent job you did on our wedding. From the moment we first met, I knew you were the one to make my big day a real fairy tale wedding, and you succeeded. You made life so easy with all the scheduled appointments and made the day flow so smoothly. We LOVE you to death Ali. Thanks for all your hard work. It was absolutely amazing. People keep talking about the entire wedding, and how well thought out it was. And we owe a huge thanks to you! You made our day so real and so special!
Love, Melissa and Anthony Contrucci
