It’s an exciting time to say “I do” as the Kenmore brand films it's second show of Bridal Wave Season 2. The live streamed reality show features eight brides and their journey to the altar as they consult with wedding industry experts in hopes of winning a $10,000 Kenmore kitchen make-over.
Steve Jobs passed away yesterday at 54. He was a visionary, the ultimate creative artist, the man who has forever changed how we expereince computers, phones and music. His quote, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do." As an entrepreneur, this quote means to much to me. Steve, you will be missed and we will carry on and I am sure apple has just scratched the surface of what you have started.
For Chicago weddings, we like to recommend some great activites that the brides and grooms can do with their guests or even recommend to their guests for when they are visiting Chicago. One of my favorite things to do in Chicago is the Architectural River Cruise. This cruise takes you on Chicago's First Lady and you see over 50 buildings in Chicago. The guides are well versed in the history of Chicago architecture and will provide you with many wonderful details about how this great city was built. The cruise would be a great pre-wedding activity where anyone could attend the day before the wedding or maybe even great for a post-wedding event the day after the wedding. There is a full service bar on the boat and small snacks. You can toast your guests as you see Chicago from the river and learn more about the great city you are wedding married in.
I love some of the great apps out there to make a bride or grooms like easier in the wedding planning. There are so may great ones out there and I am going to be sharing some of them with you as I find cool ones. My new favorite is Big Day App. Not only can you count down to the wedding day but you can also count down to your showers, the bachelorette party, the HONEYMOON! And with the easy app you can add custom pictures from your own library.
One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is the time that the bride spends getting ready at her home or in the hotel suite with her bridesmaids, Mom and friends. It is a fun time to bond and relax before the busy wedding day starts. Often times we will have hair and makeup artists come on-site to also make sure everyone looks gorgeous on the wedding day.
There’s a new tape hitting the United States, making it easier to decorate and seal than ever. It’s a Japanese product called Happytape-colored masking tape made of Japanese washi paper. I personally think whoever came up with the idea is genius. The tape is elegant and looks like ribbon but is really thin and easy to tear. The best part about it is that it comes in every color and pattern imaginable. Happytape works great on boxes, envelopes, bags, cards, basically anything you can think of. Wrap up your bridesmaids or groomsmen gifts with some fun tape that match your wedding colors.
