Tips for Hosting your Easter Brunch or Dinner

As a Chicago wedding planner and designer, I love creating memorable experiences for my clients, and Easter brunch is one of my favorite holidays! Spring is around the corner and it is so fun to pull out the color for this holiday! It's a time to gather with loved ones, enjoy delicious food, and CELEBRATE the spring season. To help you host a successful Easter gathering, here are my top 4 tips:

1.     Choose a Color Palette

Spring is all about bright colors and pastels, so use this as inspiration for your Easter color palette. Think about incorporating soft yellows, baby blues, and pretty pinks into your table settings, floral arrangements, and décor. By using a cohesive color scheme, you can create a cohesive and festive atmosphere.

2.     Create a Festive Tablescape

A beautiful tablescape is important for any Easter brunch or dinner. Start by selecting a table linen or table runner that complements your color palette, then layer on decorative elements like place settings, napkins, and centerpieces. Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns and textures to add visual interest. Grab the daffodils and the tulips at the market and use eclectic vases to decorate your table with flowers.

3.     Serve Traditional Easter Food

Easter is the perfect time to serve classic spring dishes like a honey baked ham, roasted lamb, asparagus, and deviled eggs. You can also incorporate fun Easter-themed treats like carrot cake and Easter candy. This year we are making a fun vegan lasagna to complement our meal for a friend of ours who is coming for dinner and is a vegan.

4.     Add Personal Touches

Don't forget to add personal touches to your Easter celebration. Whether it's homemade place cards, favors, or a special cocktail recipe to take home with them to remember the celebration. I have been experimenting with pomegranate cocktails to make for this Sunday.

Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends and welcome spring!  By following these 4 tips, you'll be well on your way to creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere that everyone will enjoy.

And when in doubt and you do not want to cook, our favorite restaurant in Chicago, Gene and Georgetti still has some tables available this Sunday.
